Legend

  • Ball
  • Cone

Juggling improves the touch, the coordination between both feet and the confidence on the ball. Structured as levels, every player works at their own standard and has a clear next goal. Use it at the start of training while players arrive, or as a low-intensity block.

Objective

Improve touch and coordination with both feet through progressive juggling challenges.

Organisation

  • Each player with a ball in a free space inside the area.
  • Write the levels on a card or explain them one by one.

How it works

  1. Level 1: kick, catch with the hands. Level 2: one touch, one bounce. Level 3: two touches without a bounce. Level 4: alternate right and left foot. Level 5: foot–thigh–foot–head.
  2. Pass a level by reaching 10 in a row; 1 minute per attempt.

Coaching points

  • Contact the ball with the laces, ankle locked and toes slightly up.
  • Keep the ball at waist height or lower.
  • Use both feet from the start.

Progressions

  • Juggle while walking forwards.
  • In pairs: juggle and pass to your partner without the ball touching the ground.

Regressions

  • Allow a bounce between every touch.

Variations

  • Team challenge: add up the team's total in one minute.

Key principles

  • Soft touch, locked ankle.
