Without goals, the only way to score is a pass into the end zone for a teammate who arrives on time. The player without the ball learns to come short and then spin in behind; the carrier learns to wait for the run and play the pass at the right moment.
Objective
Score by timing a run and a pass into the end zone in 2v2.
Organisation
- Channel of 25 × 15 m with a 4 m end zone at each end.
- Teams of two in bibs; spare balls behind each end zone.
How it works
- Players may not wait inside the end zone; they must arrive with the pass.
- After a point, the defending pair restarts from its own end zone.
- Games of 2 minutes.
Coaching points
- Come short to drag your defender, then spin and run in behind.
- Carrier: look at your partner's run, not only at the ball.
- Pass into space ahead of the runner so they receive in the zone.
- Defenders: one marks the runner, the other pressures the passer.
Progressions
- The receiver must control and stop the ball in the zone with one touch.
- Add a neutral who plays for the team with the ball.
Regressions
- Make the channel wider (20 m).
Variations
- Play 3v3 with the same rules.
Key principles
- Movement before the pass.
- Width and depth in a small space.
