The neutrals give the team in possession a big overload, so the key is quick circulation and staying away from each other inside. When the ball is lost, the roles switch instantly: the new defenders press to recover in five seconds. Short, intense series.
Objective
Keep the ball with the help of the neutrals and counter-press immediately after losing it.
Organisation
- Square of 16 × 16 m. Two teams of three inside, three neutrals on three sides (one side free).
How it works
- Team in possession + neutrals keep the ball; neutrals have one or two touches and cannot pass to each other.
- Ten passes = point.
- On a turnover, the other team becomes the attacking team.
- 4 series of 2 minutes; change neutrals.
Coaching points
- Inside players: form a triangle and never stand in line.
- Use the neutral and move to receive again.
- After losing the ball: closest player presses at once, the other two close the nearest neutrals.
Progressions
- Neutrals one-touch.
- A point is lost if the ball is not recovered within 5 seconds.
Regressions
- Bigger square (20 × 20 m).
Variations
- Add a fourth neutral on the empty side.
Key principles
- Overload in possession.
- React at once after losing it.
