A high-activity game with constant dribbling, shielding and decisions: go to the middle, defend your square or steal from theirs? It works with large groups and needs almost no explanation. Players may only carry one ball at a time and never use their hands.
Objective
Dribble quickly, protect the ball and decide when to attack or defend.
Organisation
- Area of 25 × 25 m. Each team has a 3 × 3 m home square in opposite corners. 12–16 balls in a central zone.
How it works
- On the signal, players dribble one ball at a time from the middle to their home square.
- When the middle is empty, they may take balls from the other team's square; defenders can tackle.
- Games of 2 minutes; the team with more balls wins.
Coaching points
- Run with long touches in space, short touches near opponents.
- Shield the ball when someone comes close.
- Look around: where are the free balls?
Progressions
- Balls in the home square can only be taken by dribbling past a defender standing in it.
Regressions
- No tackling allowed, only racing.
Variations
- Three or four teams with a home square each.
Key principles
- Head up, decide, go.
