- Goal
Without being able to move with the ball, the team only progresses by passing, so teammates have to show for the ball and find free space all the time. Scoring with a header from a teammate's throw makes players attack the ball in front of goal. It is a fun, low-risk game for the start of a session or as a change of rhythm.
Objective
Offer constant passing options by moving without the ball and finish with a header from a teammate's throw.
Organisation
- 30 × 20 m pitch with a goal and goalkeeper at each end.
- Two teams of four to six players.
How it works
- Passes are made only with the hands.
- The player holding the ball cannot move (pivoting on one foot is allowed).
- A goal only counts if it is scored with a header from a teammate's throw.
- Defenders can intercept passes but cannot take the ball out of an opponent's hands. If the ball touches the ground, the other team restarts from that point.
- 2 × 6 minutes.
Coaching points
- Show for the ball as soon as a teammate catches it: there must always be two options.
- Move into free space away from your marker.
- Attack the ball with your forehead and head it down towards the goal.
Progressions
- Maximum 3 seconds holding the ball.
- Every player in the team must touch the ball before scoring.
Regressions
- One step with the ball is allowed.
- A goal scored with the hand also counts, a header counts double.
Variations
- Optional: volley goals are also allowed and count double.
Key principles
- Move without the ball.
- Always two passing options.
